Are You Confused by MLM Compensation Plans? Understand the Top 7 Models in Less Than 10 Minutes By: Andrew Cocks

Trying to find your way through the maze of internet marketing companies and figure out which ones are legit, which ones have the best plans, etc, etc, etc, can be quite overwhelming to say the least. Andrew has broken down one aspect of the puzzle, that piece called Compensation Plans, and in his special way, eplained it in a way that is very understandable.
I hope it helps...George

When deciding on an MLM opportunity it is critical to understand the compensation plan as it details everything you need to do to get paid a specific amount of money. All MLM marketing plans have advantages and disadvantages and by doing your homework you'll be able to decide which one is best for you. Before we describe the seven most popular types of marketing plans, there are two things in every compensation plan you need to know about.

Demotion means dropping from one rank position to a lower one. It usually results in a loss of future potential income. Or, your remainder quota required to reach a certain target is increased. The volume achieved in the past does not count towards the grand total anymore.

Maintenance, sometimes called autoship, is the minimum amount of sales volume, usually every month a distributor or serious business builder has to buy either his own personal volume or combined with group sales in order to maintain his rank, be eligible for bonuses, overriding commission or sometimes even maintain his distributorship. Having maintenance or no maintenance has its pros and cons.

Here are three scenarios to give a clearer picture:

Mandatory Maintenance
Require you to purchase products every single month. This is good if you have built a large organization and it ensures you have guaranteed income every month. Not good if you are forced to maintain and you are not making money in your business. If you are in love with the product and don't mind paying for it every month then it is fine. But this can cause a person who is not seriously building or is still struggling with his business some pressure and it is one of the main causes of drop out in MLM.

No Maintenance
There is no monthly purchase requirement. This is very good for people who have just started their business or for people who are just casually trying out an MLM. There is no pressure and a person can be in an MLM for years but still at the same rank The bad news is that it might not be good for the long term, because no maintence means no requirement for downlines to buy anything, unless your group is in love with the product or if you and your downlines have built a solid customer base and the demand of the product is there.

Optional Maintenance
You are required to buy a certain volume of products when you want to override your commission from the company. This is very good in the sense that you are not pressured to pay maintenance and you only pay when you are making money.

Now that you understand how demotion and maintenance fit into the equation, here are the top 7 MLM compensation plans:

The Stairstep
The Stairstep or step and ladder plan is a simple plan that has requirements that you must meet to get up the "Stairs of Success" Every step is a promotion usually based on achieving a certain volume and each promotion or rank gives you a larger cut.

The Unilevel
The Unilevel is a simple "Number of Levels" that the company will pay you, and usually there is no promotion or rank. You make money by getting a certain override off of the volume, and usually there is a requirement of volume to qualify for a check.

The Binary
The Binary is an interesting design for a Comp Plan. It usually has 2 "legs" that you can have "Business centers" in, and you have a volume requirement to get paid on each leg. There is what is called "balancing" in the Binary model. You must balance the volume from each leg to make sure you maximize your commissions.

The Breakaway
This plan has been said to have become somewhat unpopular in the industry, as you could lose the business you build, once it gets to a certain level of success, and it "breaks away" to no longer be a part of what you get paid on. It usually appears in stairstep.

The Matrix
The Matrix or sometimes called a Forced Matrix is like a pre-order tree. A computer driven plan puts into your group by computer, and they go in the next available slot. Usually this plan is combined with some form of a Binary and it does work well if there are a lot of people that are recruited and working together to fill the matrix.

The Australian Two Up
This is a marketing plan that is very unique. Basically, the two people you recruit are given to your upline sponsor and the rest of the recruits are yours.

The Hybrid
A hybrid is a combination of any of the above features. An example would be a Forced Matrix with Unilevel benefits ensuring that those who actually work to fill the tree gets paid more, or an Australian Two Up with Stairstep advancement to offset the disadvantages of distributors being too deep in an organization.

Many companies are now combining the advantages of several models to create MLM compensation plans that will help distributors maximize their income.

Improve your Search Engine Ranking

If you are an internet marketing novice, you are probably facing the seemingly impossible and somewhat daunting task of trying to get your site listed on the first page of the search engines. You probably have no idea how to improve your ranking. For the purposes of this discussion, we will outline the procedures you should follow to climb steadily to the top of the search engines, while still making sure that you attract qualified traffic that will actually be receptive to the products or services that your website offers.

The first thing you need to understand is that your search engine ranking will not improve overnight. There are quite a few charlatans in cyberspace who work as Search Engine Optimization (SEO) consultants. They will charge you an arm and a leg for their services, sometimes as much as $2,000 per month or more. They often make dubious claims that they can get you ranked on the first page of the search engines within a few months, and if not, they will kindly refund your money.

However, there is a catch. Once you pay the initial deposit and the SEO company begins working on your website, they will often optimize your website in such a manner so that you will be able to quickly rise to the top of the rankings for a keyword that is either not significant or will not attract any real traffic to your website.

For example, if your website provides auto insurance quotes, any SEO consultant knows that it will be impossible to expediently get your website ranked on the first page of Google for a highly competitive phrase such as AUTO INSURANCE QUOTES. So, instead, they will pick a variation of that phrase, such as AUTO INSURANCE QUOTES FAST, for which there is no competition, and you will quickly rise to the top. The only problem is no one will ever actually use that precise phrase when searching for auto insurance quotes, so even though the SEO company delivered on its promise to improve your ranking, you will still not get any visitors to your website because you will be ranked high for a keyword that no one will ever use when searching for auto insurance quotes.

So, you need to use a different approach if you want to not only improve your ranking, but also attract qualified traffic to your website. The first thing you need to do is optimize your website for the keywords or phrases that people actually use when searching for products or services related to what you offer. For example, if you sell vitamins, you would want to improve your ranking for the phrases BUY VITAMINS or BUY VITAMINS ONLINE. To optimize your website for your chosen keywords, you should either hire a web designer that has experience optimizing websites, or you should purchase search engine optimization software that will show you how to tweak your website and how to change your HTML code so that your site is properly optimized. You should also try to have a decent amount of free content on your website that relates to the keywords or phrases for which you want to be ranked higher.

The next step is to submit your site to the search engines, if you have not already done so. It seems silly to mention this considering that we are talking about search engines anyway, but some people actually forget to submit their website to the engines, or only submit their site to a couple of search engines and then quit. There are hundreds of legitimate search engines and directories in cyberspace, and you should submit to all them. I recommend that you look for search engine submission companies on Google and pick one that charges a small monthly fee to submit your site to the search engines once per month.

The last step, and probably the most important component of getting ranked higher on the search engines, is increasing your link popularity. The more websites that are linking to your site, the higher your ranking will be. To increase your link popularity, you will need to submit your website to link exchange directories so that you can swap links with other websites (they will link to you if you agree to link to them). Also, you can write articles and submit them to article submission directories. At the bottom of each article you write, you are allowed to include a link to your website. As the articles you write are put into circulation and are published on other websites, your link popularity will increase.

If you employ each of the strategies outlined in this article, you should be able to improve your search engine ranking while at the same time garnering the kind of traffic that you want. No website can improve its ranking overnight, but if you are persistent, your efforts will be rewarded in the long run.

How NOT to Promote Your Website on Forums

How NOT to Promote Your Website on Forums
by Lori Redfield

Internet entrepreneurs, work at home moms, network marketers... you're all fed the same hype about how to promote your website, get leads, recruit members or what have you.One of the first things you will be told is to post your ads on forums. Lots.

This article is a guide to proper forum etiquette so that you don't waste your own and many other peoples time.

The first thing you need to know is that forum owners deal with a ton of spam. I could easily spend an hour a day cleaning up spammy posts in the forum and deleting and banning
members that don't abide by forum rules. It's unnerving to have to waste my time doing that rather then engaging in conversations on the forum and providing my members with useful information.

So from the forum owner perspective, spam is a very bad thing. On the other hand, to help out forum participants and to try to deter them from spamming every forum in the message boards, most forum owners will provide an advertising forum of some sort where you can post an ad.

If all you are planning to do is post ads on forums, then look for this particular section of a message board. Especially don't post an ad in the introduction section of a forum.

But here is the thing about ads. Nobody really reads them. Your time would be far better spent actually engaging in conversations on the forums you frequent. You will gain the trust and loyalty of the forum population if they get to know you. They will much more
likely decide to sign up for a biz op under someone that they talk with in a trusted forum then from some fly by night forum spammers post. Doesn't that make sense?

You will be taught that posting your website link on many forums will help to build your websites backlink popularity which will in turn increase your websites ranking in the search engine results. The truth is, your post is most likely going to be deleted as soon
as the forum owner or moderators find it. All you really will have done is wasted your time.

How you can be certain that you will build your backlinks by forum posting is by putting your website link in your signature on a forum and including your signature in your quality posts. The website owner will be happy to have you posting and in turn will be happy to
allow you a small advertisement in your signature when posting.

Another trick you might not know is this. If there is a keyword phrase that you would like to rank well for in the search engines, use this as the 'anchor text' in your website link. That means if you want to rank well for a term such as 'ameriplan business opportunity' - then you would type that into your signature and have that link to your website.

Keep a folder of forums in your favorites folder on your browser and spend some time every day going to each of the forums. Make it a goal to leave at least one quality post and a few welcome posts to new members.

Informative and engaging comments, coupled with a well optimized signature will win you far more traffic and prospects in the long run. And you might even pick up a thing or two through your engagement on the forum!

SEO Or PPC Ads - Which One To Choose ?

Organic SEO or Pay-Per-Click Advertising - Which Should You Choose?
by Scott Buresh

When people hear about online marketing, they often think of two of the more popular methods that a company can use to enhance its visibility on the Web: organic search engine optimization and pay-per-click advertising. In an ideal world, you would use both strategically to maximize your site's profile. However, budgetary constraints often make this impossible, and trying to do both on a limited budget or with minimal resources can result in neither campaign producing ideal results. In this case, it's usually better to focus on one or the other. But which is best for you?

Organic Search Engine Optimization

Organic search engine optimization campaigns offer several distinct advantages over pay-per-click advertising campaigns, as many recent studies have shown. What follows is a brief listing of some of the findings.

Propensity to Click

Study after study indicates people are less likely to click on paid search ads rather than on results from organic search engine optimization. For example, one study found that search users are up to six times more likely to click on the first few organic results than they are to choose any of the paid results (1), while an eye tracking study (2) showed that 50 percent of users begin their search by scanning the top organic results. Other studies have shown that only 30 percent of search engine users click on paid listings, leaving an overwhelming 70 percent who are clicking the organic listings (3). And a 2003 study found that 85 percent of searchers report clicking on paid links in less than 40 percent of all of their searches, and 78 percent of all respondents claim that they found the information they we searching for through sponsored links just 40 percent of the time (4).

Trust

Studies are beginning to indicate that the trust level for organic results is much higher than that of paid results, and that paid results are looked upon as a nuisance by some searchers. One study found that only 14 percent of searchers trust paid listings, and 29 percent report being "annoyed" by them (5). Another study found that 66 percent of customers distrust paid ads (6). Clearly, it's not generally a good idea to upset potential customers before they even click on your link.

Value of Visitors

Organic search engine results tend to be seen as non-biased, and they therefore are able to provide visitors that are more valuable. The overall conversion rate, or the rate at which searchers take a desired action on a site, is 17 percent higher for unpaid search results than the rate for paid (4.2% vs. 3.6%) (7). Trends also have shown that more of the sales that result from search engines originated in organic search listings (8).

Visitors Becoming More Aware of Pay-Per-Click as Advertising

As more and more people turn to the Internet for research and information, more searchers are becoming aware of paid results as a marketing tool. One study showed that not only are 38 percent of searchers aware of the distinction between paid and unpaid results, 54 percent are aware of the distinction on Google, which is widely recognized as the most popular search engine (9).

Pay-Per-Click Costs Rising

Meanwhile, pay-per-click costs are rising steadily. Between October 2004 and December 2005, average keyword prices rose from around $25 to just under $55 (10). And the cost of keywords can increase by as much as 100 percent during the holiday season (11). These costs aren't going unnoticed either; one study of problems experienced by U.S. companies found that 57 percent of respondents felt that their desired keywords were "too expensive," while 51 percent expressed concern that they are overpaying for certain keywords (12). On the other hand, when you outsource to an organic search engine optimization firm, your costs will likely remain more stable than the prices for pay-per-click advertising.

Long Term Results

While a pay-per-click campaign may produce results more quickly than an organic search engine optimization campaign, organic search engine optimization campaigns can give you results that last. When the budget runs out for a pay-per-click campaign, or when your company decides that the pay-per-click campaign should be terminated, the results end as well. With organic search engine optimization, the optimized site content and other changes made to your site can have an impact on your search results until the next change in a search engine's algorithm, or possibly even beyond.

Relevance

Users also have rated organic search engine results as more relevant than paid results. On Google, 72.3 percent felt that organic results were more relevant, while only 27.7 percent rated paid results as more relevant. Yahoo offered similar results, with 60.8 calling organic results relevant compared to only 39.2 percent for paid (13).

Pay-Per-Click

While the above statistics may make organic search engine optimization seem the clear choice in all cases, in certain situations it actually can make more sense to do pay-per-click advertising. For those looking for fast results on a small budget, a pay-per-click campaign may be the answer.

Results

As previously stated, the results from pay-per-click advertising are immediate. On the other hand, an organic search engine optimization campaign may take up to three months or more for results to be apparent. In this case, pay-per-click is advantageous for those who are looking to promote an initiative that will go live in a short amount of time, or whose business is seasonal in nature and who only do promotion during certain months of the year.

Budget

Small businesses with extremely tight budgets may find that pay-per-click is a better investment than organic search engine optimization because a pay-per-click campaign will almost always cost less--good search engine optimization companies simply do not work for $100 per month. By limiting a campaign's keyphrases to highly specific terms relevant to a company's business, there will not be a large amount of traffic generated, but the traffic that is generated will be specific to the desired result. Plus, choosing such specific phrases can make them less expensive on a per click basis. Moreover, in niche markets with a high average dollar sale, where there's not a great amount of search activity because the prospect pool is limited, it may not make sense to engage a quality organic search engine optimization firm at several thousand dollars per month when you can instead buy varying niche-specific keyphrases and generate traffic in that way.

Easier to Handle In-House

Non-complicated pay-per-click campaigns can be handled much more easily in-house than an organic search engine optimization campaign. Such campaigns generally involve business to business and high-end, service oriented companies, not those geared toward a large consumer base. Since organic search engine optimization requires a steep learning curve and since there are so many questionable tactics that can put a site at risk of penalization (the tactics that neophytes to search engine optimization are likely to use), it may make more sense to run a pay-per-click campaign. Since you are dealing directly with the engine, i.e., Yahoo Search Marketing and Google AdWords, you don't need to pay a middleman, and these sites offer helpful tutorials on how to use pay-per-click marketing. Perhaps most importantly, the concept of pay-per-click is much easier to grasp and understand at the outset.

No Contracts

Most organic search engine optimization campaigns require a contract of a certain length because SEO companies know that meaningful results will rarely happen overnight. When dealing with an in-house pay-per-click campaign, obviously a contract is not an issue. But in general, even when you are dealing with an agency, you will not tend to need to sign a contract because the agency instead makes money on a percentage of the spend, although there may be a setup fee. Without a contract, you are free to reallocate marketing dollars elsewhere if you discover that the pay-per-click campaign is not providing the desired results.

Conclusion

Clearly, organic search engine optimization has some distinct advantages over pay-per-click advertising. However, there are undoubtedly certain situations and scenarios where pay-per-click advertising makes more sense fiscally and strategically. With a high enough budget, you would be able to have an effective organic search engine optimization campaign running in tandem with an effective pay-per-click campaign. But if you have to choose one, look into your unique situation before you decide.

Hopes & Dreams...or Blood, Sweat, & Tears?

I grew up constantly hearing the over-rated phrase, "Knowledge is Power". It wasn't until I took high school physics that I realized that the statement wasn't exactly true. It was missing a very important element. Knowledge can be described as Potential Energy. Energy that is stored, sitting, waiting to be put to use. But, until it is put into motion, it remains idle. It is only when Knowledge is acted upon or put into action, like putting Potential Energy into motion, does Knowledge become Power or Kinetic Energy or Energy in Motion. Merideth's article below, illustrates the point very well.
......George

I saw this post in the Home Based Business forum this afternoon and it got me thinking (surprise surprise!):
2 months back, I ate in a local chinese restaurent and found this message from the fortune cookie. "It is the hope and dreams we have that make us great"

Right after seeing this message, I started to relate this to the movie [sic The Secret]. What do you guys think?

Personally, I think this is a great quote, but one that is missing a pretty vital component...the one thing I would add to it is that, while hopes and dreams can greatly inspire us, it is the action and the commitment to achieve those dreams that truly make us great. You can sit around each and every day dreaming of a million dollar paycheck and want it with all your heart, but you will never actually get it unless you take action.

That is a huge component of personal development and wealth generation that people often miss or choose to skip over. One of the things I look for when I'm interviewing prospects is if they are people of action who are not content to wait for life to hand them the apple. They're going to do whatever it takes to climb up the tree, pick that apple, and savor each and every bite of it. Then they are going to do it again. I have actually turned people away who go on and on about how much they want that apple but expect me to climb up there for them and lower a rope ladder. True success doesn't work that way - it has to be earned. And trust me when I say that success is so much sweeter when you know you are the one who earned it.

Yours in Greater Success,
Merideth

Network Marketing, The Business Model

By Bruce Bailey

Tip! Avoid Network Marketing groups that offer commission-based compensation among distributors. There is a big possibility that it is an illegal pyramid.

Network marketing is a multi-billion dollar business. As a business model, it is taught in major universities around the world. The Wall Street Journal stated, between 50% and 65% of all goods and services sold in this millennium will be through network marketing. It is a business model that is perfectly suited to the information age.

What is this Business Model?
Network marketing is a way of doing business that is different from the traditional model used by most consumer packaged goods, food and drug companies. It is one of the most promising income opportunities in American today. It is the idea of many people each doing a little work, as opposed to a few people doing a lot of work. To quote J. Paul Getty, the world's first billionaire, I'd rather have 1% of the efforts of 100 people than 100% of my own.

Tip! Find each individual's personal strength. Many times, the network marketing industry is so focused on duplication that we forget the fact that each individual brings a unique set of skills, strengths, and experiences.

Rather than using the customary distribution process of moving products from manufacturer to wholesaler to retailer to consumer, network marketing companies use a network of independent marketers to move products directly from the manufacturer to the consumer. Further, the cost structure of a network marketing organization is different than a traditional packaged goods marketer.

With a traditional company, millions of dollars are spent on advertising to entice consumers to buy that company's products instead of the virtually identical product from another company. With a network company, the advertising expense is channeled into sales commissions for distributors who promote the product through word-of-mouth advertising, i.e. by telling other people about the product. In the traditional business model, money is spent BEFORE the sale in the form of advertising; in the network marketing model, the money is paid AFTER the sale in the form of commissions. Which model seems to make the most sense from a business standpoint?

With network marketing, you have two sources of income: (1) direct commissions from sales you make yourself, and (2) commissions from sales made by people you introduce to the business, called residual income. You can invest your time and money once and get paid multiple times for the effort. It means getting paid for the work of others. In traditional sales, you may be a great salesperson and have a few dozen good customers and earn your income from all their purchases. However, you probably have to nurture these customers and spend most of your working time making sure they are buying from you and not someone else.

Tip! Understand What Motivates the Prospect Any prospect will be inclined to join network marketing business only in the hope of meeting his unfulfilled desires. He may be looking for financial security, additional income, freedom from daily grind, business ownership and so on.

In network marketing, you can build a downline of 100, 1,000, or even 10,000 people, most of whom you will not know nor ever have contact with. This is because the majority of the people in your downline will be people who know somebody, who know somebody, who know somebody, who know you. By having a downline that is working with you, and for you, you can multiply your efforts many times. The earning potential of a downline of 1,000 people, each putting in only one hour a day five days a week, represents 20,000 hours of work in a month. It would take one person 10 years to produce the same amount of work. That's the power of a network.

Tip! Use your products regularly. This is Number 1 for a reason, this is the most ignored part of ANY network marketing business.

Perhaps Robert T. Kiyosaki, author of the Rich Dad, Poor Dad series, said it best. The richest people in the world look for networks. Everyone else looks for work.

It is estimated that more than 50,000 people start a home-based business every week in the United States. The average person owning a home-based business earns more than $50,000 a year (often working part-time), while the national average annual household income is less than $45,000 (and most of those people are working at least 40 hours per week). Additionally, a home-based business owner can qualify for many legitimate tax breaks, and tax experts suggest that the average person can save between $2,000 and $10,000 on taxes every year just by starting a home-based business.

Tip! Work from the inside out. To succeed in network marketing it is imperative that you devote some time to self development.

How is this possible? Well, consider these two tax structures: a wage earner first earns income, then pays tax on that income, and then pays for expenses with after-tax income. A business owner first earns income, then pays for expenses, and then pays tax on net income after expenses. In other words, a business owner can legitimately reduce the amount of tax he or she has to pay because business expenses are paid with pre-tax income, not after-tax, income.

Network marketing is a $36 Billion industry in the United States. More than 20 per cent of the estimated one million millionaires in America today have earned their fortunes over the previous six years through network marketing. Worldwide, there are over 3.5 million millionaires, and more than 700,000 have made their millions via network marketing. Conservative estimates are that network marketing in America is creating 40 new millionaires every month from average people. This means that a person's greatest chance of financial success is through networking. Again, Robert Kiyosaki observed, If I had it to do all over again, I would choose network marketing.

Tip! As soon as you finish reading this, run out and buy Wave 4: Network Marketing in the 21st Century by Richard Poe. I don't know Richard Poe, but I do know that this book explains everything.

For people who are interested in starting a home-based business, supplementing their income, and providing greater security for retirement and for their children and grandchildren, network marketing is an obvious choice.

I am taking about making money with affiliate programs, now I know you may have tried it in the pass to no avail or you may be trying it right now and you are a little disappointed because you haven't made any money yet.

Well the reason you haven't made any money is that you are doing it all wrong. If you are promoting the affiliate program directly on or offline using , magazines, classified ads, direct mail or online promotions you undoubtedly have been using the affiliate link that was given to you.

You were told in order to make money, you needed a website and have your affiliate link to it. Has it worked? You found out that banners don't work either. Those FFA sites, forget them, all they do is fill your email with spam. Don't waste your time with free classified sites. The lookers are only picking up your name and email address as a lead source to try and market their product and services to you.

Tip! Affiliate programs are connected with SEO and the amount of traffic you attract to your site. The more traffic you drive to your site the better chance you have to make money online through visitors clicking on advertisers' banners on your site.

Here's the problem why you haven't made any money, everyone that sees your affiliate link knows what you are trying to do and they will exchange your link with theirs and steal your commission. You need to take certain precaution to insure that you get paid and your link in not recognizable.

Stop marketing the product or service through the affiliate link, you can't make money this way. This article is design to give you the knowledge you need to totally turn your business around so that you will know how to start making a large chunk of money.

Below are the steps that will show you how to build a massive fortune online

Step One: Set up a ClickBank account if you haven't done so yet, you will need this account in order for your checks to be mailed to you. It's fast, easy and it free.
http://ClickBank.com

Tip! There are a lot of ways to make money online; you can sell a product or services. If you think you are good ion writing, you can start a freelance article-writing site.

Step Two: You need to join between three to five affiliate program that will pay you $20 or more per sell. If you are trying to promote anything below 50% commission, you are not going to see a big profit margin. I found two super site that you can check out to get you started. I must warn you, there is a lot of information on these sites and I suggest you read some of the articles they provide.
http://www.LifeTimeCommission.com and http://www.AssociatePrograms.com

Step Three: Once you determined which affiliate programs you are going to join, you need to mask your link, okay! what do I mean, simply this, you need to mask your affiliate link with a hosting domain. The reason you want to do this is to prevent your affiliate link from being recognized and having your commission stolen.

Tip! Everyday people are searching the net hoping to find a magic way to make money online. Only few are actually making some serious money online and the rest are struggling.

Someone can see the website you are trying to promote, eliminate your tracking code and can go there directly leaving you without a commission. So you need a hosting company to mast your affiliate link. A real good source I know of is http://www.GoDaddy.com
The fee is very cheap and you have this domain name for one year until you renew it.

Once you are established with your new domain name, go to the FAQ section. Go to the title "What is masking and how do I set up for my domain?" follow its instruction to mask your affiliate link. You may want to print this for the next time you set up a affiliate link. Now the way you are going to use your new domain name is explain below.

Tip! There are tons of ways to make money online but nothing matters if you don't know how to work it yourself. You must learn to master few simple skills and knowledge.

Step Four: Submit your domain name to all of the major search engines, just type in
"search engines submission" in your browser. The major one are: Google, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves, AllTheWeb, AOL Search; HotBot, Teoma, AltaVista, Gigablast; LookSmart, Lycos, MSN Search, Netscape Search & Open Directory. Do not pay anyone to do this, you can do it yourself. Don't submit to 100's of search engines, it is not necessary.

Start writing articles with good content. Your articles should be directed toward a niche market who would be interested in reading your articles, not to someone interested in selling shoes. If you don't know how to write articles, learn. Just do a search online and type in " How to write articles" or type in "Free articles" to get a good ideal how on how it's written, you are going to get a lot of information on this subject.

Tip! Start Slow! When you first start out trying to make money online, the internet is going to seem like a huge place with tons of information everywhere. You'll probably feel overwhelmed with an information overload! Don't let that happen.

Your articles will be submitted to Ezines and free websites that maintains them. I know I told you early that you can do this without cost, well you can but if you ever submitted articles before, then you know how tedious it can be.

I suggest you look online into a software program title " Article Submitter Pro" you will be able to submit your articles to 500 to 750 Ezines in a few hours compared to months trying to do it manually. Read about the reviews on this program, you will thank me for it.

Do not try to sell any product or service in your articles. People are reading your articles because of a problem they are trying to solve, the ideal of writing good articles is because you are going to plug in your domain name in your resource box. This is how your readers buy online and thus you making money through your domain. Your ClickBank account will track all of your earnings, so you will never have to worry about getting paid or cheated.

Tip! Bottom line: You CAN make money online if you are the type of person who is a self-starter and motivated to work toward your goals even when the going gets tough.

See, you haven't been doing this before. You only been concentrating on promoting the affiliate link and that is why you haven't made any money. By writing articles, you can sell anything online. You can sell for any company who has an online affiliate program.

2 Ways To Market Your Network Marketing Business Opportunity Today

By Jeff Schuman

Tip! You give a two-hour network marketing presentation to a very interested couple and as soon as you finish, they want to show you *their* network marketing presentation.

In the old days if you were going to market your network
business opportunity
that meant making a list of everyone you
knew. You were taught to really dig deep and make the longest
list you could think of. This would include a special list
called your chicken list which would be the most successful
people you knew, but were afraid to contact.

Then you would pick up the phone and invite them to an
opportunity meeting to listen to an expert stand up and tell
everyone about the opportunity to start a business of their own
in network marketing. This was not a bad system except for one
thing. It really did not work because most people were afraind
to pick up the phone and start making calls.

Tip! Use your products regularly. This is Number 1 for a reason, this is the most ignored part of ANY network marketing business.

The days of this type of a system are over. Unless that is the
way you want to do it. The reason so many people are making
money in network marketing today starts with how easy it is to
present the business opportunity to people you do not know. That
is not to say you can't make a list of people you know and
contact them. You can and you should.

But now it is as easy as inviting them to vist your website or
to listen to a conference call live or even a pre-recoreded
call. This type of prospecting takes away the fear factor and
allows your prospect to check out what you are doing in a casual
way.

Tip! Create a large customer base. This is another largely ignored, yet very important, piece of your network marketing business.

Personally I like to hand out business cards with my website on
it and just ask them to take a look and if they are interested
give me a call. Anyone with a little ambition can do this. At
Vistaprint.com you can get 250 free business cards and
personalize them with your name, address, phone number, email
address, and website address.

The other way to market your network business opportunity today
is to drive traffic to your website and let the company take
over from there. Most mlm companies today give you several of
your own websites with your i.d. number coded in the url itself.
They also have an email follow-up system in place that is
customized with your contact information in each email. The
purpose of having more than 1 website is you can refer your
prospects to different websites based on how well you know them.

Tip! Don't rush into network marketing. Look around and find a good company that suits you and your needs.

If you know someone well you might send them to one website that provides alot of information. If you are promoting on the
internet you would refer your prospect to a lead capture page
that requires them to fill out their name, phone, and email
address, before being sent to another website that is more of a
sales page on your business.

The information is then emailed to you for personal follow-up if
you like. In the meantime the company email follow-up system
kicks in and starts sending your prospect information emails
with your name in them designed to educate your prospect about
your company and products.

Tip! Some network marketing operators take the business reluctantly as if its status will not able to decline in time.

Handing out business cards and marketing your business on the
internet with websites and conference call makes it easier for
anyone to market a network marketing opportunity today. Easier
does mean easy. To make money with your own mlm business still
is going to require you to work. The beauty of how it is done
today, however, is that automation allows you to build you
business quicker and to present your opportunity to more people
than you ever could have in the past.

Two Important Steps to Network Marketing Success

By Mal Keenan

Tip! Work from the inside out. To succeed in network marketing it is imperative that you devote some time to self development.

How's your email inbox been lately? No doubt jammed packed with the latest, greatest offer promising to make you $1000s in a matter of days. Your only commitment comprises of simply signing on the dotted web page.

Sounds to good to be true, right? Well, one way to make good money online is by leveraging the efforts of others but one must be careful before jumping in with both feet.

It is important when comtemplating joining a network marketing program that two important things are in place.

Firstly, you MUST have a product that people will buy and that you could use yourself. After all if YOU can find a use for the product then chances are your prospects will be able to do so too.

Tip! Duplicate yourself. Network marketing is about leveraging yourself, reaching many more people, and selling many more products than you could possibly do on your own.

Too often I have joined network marketing companies and found that the product was sub-standard or worse still, the product came a far off second to the compensation plan, setting the company up with the possibility of being labled a "pyramid scheme".

Pyramid schemes focus on the exchange of money and recruitment - Sure enough it is important to signup others in order to grow out your team and increase your earnings but the product should not be so dubious that the company comes under the scrutiny of the law.

Tip! Avoid Network Marketing groups that offer commission-based compensation among distributors. There is a big possibility that it is an illegal pyramid.

You can find out more about pyramid schemes at the site below: http://www.sec.gov/answers/pyramid.htm

One program, that I became involved with recently, attracted me before I even knew I could make money from promoting it. Success University offers Self Improvement courses, which is a genre that I have always been interested in. So, making a monthly payment to improve my knowledge and earning power seemed a no brainer to me. The investment seemed small compared to what I could gain, that's without taking into consideration the money earned through promoting the product to others.

The above formula is just one way to check out whether the product is something that you can sell to others in good conscience.

Secondly, if you want to make money from your network marketing company with the least possible effort then you must look out for a GREAT compensation plan.

This folks is a no brainer - I have been a member of one particular network marketing program and in spite of the presence of a great product AND personally recruiting hundreds or thousands of members, the monthly payout was comparatively very low. The compensation plan did not significantly reward me for my efforts and subsequently I have lost interest in continuing apace. I would much rather expend the same amount of effort for greater gains.

Tip! After giving a complete network marketing presentation to a prospect, you discover that he/she was never qualified to begin with. He was irrational, illogical, unmotivated and didn't have two dimes to rub together.

When perusing the compensation plan ask yourself - Can I start earning with the least amount of effort and more importantly will my income grow exponentially through the time and efforts of both myself and those on my team?

You may also want to find out how others are earning by searching the online forums. People love to boast and if the money is being earned then you'll hear about it.

Keep in mind the couple of points above when choosing a company to put your weight behind and you won't go too far wrong.

Tip! Use your products regularly. This is Number 1 for a reason, this is the most ignored part of ANY network marketing business.
